According to the Marifetname method, the Ottoman Turkish equivalent of “Ecstasy” is “Vechd” (وَجد). The first letter of this word is “V” (و), which corresponds to the letter “Waw” in the ancient alphabet. Waw signifies friendship, union (Vuslat), and the attainment of one’s desires.

It is narrated that Ibn Sirin, the venerable interpreter of dreams, said, “A dream of Ecstasy indicates a state of spiritual elevation, wherein the dreamer’s heart is filled with an intense longing for the Divine.” Ancient sources state that such a dream may portend a period of great joy and spiritual growth, wherein the dreamer’s soul is united with its Creator.

In the realm of the soul, Ecstasy represents a state of surrender, wherein the dreamer’s ego is transcended, and they become one with the universe. This dream whispers the glad tidings of a deepening spiritual connection, wherein the dreamer’s heart is filled with an unshakeable sense of peace and contentment.

Yet, beware, dear seeker, for excessive Ecstasy can also be a trial, a test of one’s resolve and character. As Kirmani, the wise scholar, cautioned, “The ecstasy of the soul can be a double-edged sword, for it can bring about great spiritual growth, but also lead to heedlessness and neglect of worldly responsibilities.”
